The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office has been made aware of someone spoofing the Sheriff's Office phone number and then  claiming the person they called had a warrant and they needed to pay over the phone or go to jail. THIS IS A SCAM

It is not standard procedure for any Law Enforcement agency to call you and ask for you to pay for a warrant or other fines over the phone with gift cards or any kind of money transaction.

If you receive a phone call like this, hang up and call your local law enforcement. DO NOT GIVE PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE.
