40 Hour Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Course - Seguin

Cost: $300 (Includes 1-year Membership with TAHN)

Instructor(s): Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators (TAHN) 

This comprehensive course prepares law enforcement personnel for crisis/hostage negotiations, covering team roles, active listening, crisis psychology, and stress management. Meets TCOLE standards for wiretap warrants.

This training is being provided to local, state and federal law enforcement personnel which includes law enforcement officers/agents, peace officers, detention/corrections officers or communications officer who have a demonstrated profession interest in hostage/crisis negotiations.  Identification will be required showing your affiliation  with a federal, state or local law enforcement agency at the beginning of the training.

APRIL 2026

The School of Police Staff & Command (Hosting -Northwestern University)

Prerequisites: 2 years of supervisory experience; completion of Supervision of Police Personnel highly recommended.
Earn University Credit: 6 units of credit under the Northwestern University quarter system

investigators aware of the variety of resources available to assist them in establishing the status
of a child who may be missing, exploited, or at risk of exploitation and what courses of action
are immediately available.

3-Day Cognitive Interview and Detecting Deception

Dress Code: Agency Uniform, Collard Shirt with nice pants/jeans (w/out holes or tears) and closed toe footwear. NO Shorts or opened toed footwear.

Parking: Available parking is directly across from the Sheriff's Office. Individuals attending training should not park close to the building. If individuals park near the building, regardless if they are in marked units, they will be asked to move their vehicle to the designated parking for attending training.
