  • Patrol Operations
  • Traffic
  • K-9
  • Mental Health Unit
  • Quartermaster

PATROL MISSION:
The Patrol Division of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office is committed to protecting the lives, property, and rights of all. We will enforce all laws impartially while maintaining the highest degree of ethical behavior and professional conduct. We will strive to be a part of the community that has empowered us to serve. We are committed to developing partnerships with the citizens and strive to work together to solve problems throughout Guadalupe County.

PATROL OVERVIEW AND DUTIES:
Patrol Deputies are often the first to respond to and arrive at emergencies. They respond to tens of thousands of calls for service per year. They are the largest and most visible division of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office. Patrol Deputies are assigned to patrol districts. Under the overall division command of a Captain, the patrol shifts are divided between two Lieutenants. Each shift is supervised by a shift Sergeant and two Corporals. Sheriff's Deputies in the Patrol Division respond to calls for service and conduct proactive police patrols within their assigned district. The Patrol Division provides 24-hour service, 365 days a year, through four patrol shifts. Specialized units within the Division, such as traffic, K-9, and Mental Health, supplement patrol shifts when necessary but primarily focus on their primary duties. The traffic unit targets problem locations, high-volume traffic areas, and responds to citizen complaints. The Mental Health Unit is a specialized unit trained to address the rapidly growing need for peace officers responding to calls to persons in crisis. This Unit works hand in hand with Guadalupe County's Mental Health Provider, Bluebonnet Trails. The K-9 Unit consists of Deputies and their K-9 partners trained to assist Sheriff's Office operations in a variety of ways, but primarily as narcotics detection teams.
