On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at about 4:42 AM, Deputies responded to the area of the 1200 block of Haberle Road for a report of an unwanted subject. Deputies had previously received requests for extra patrols in the area due to similar circumstances, suspicious vehicles, and possible illegal hunting and trespassing. A Dodge Ram pickup was located on the complainant's property. When deputies attempted to detain the driver, he evaded detention. The deputies pursued the vehicle, traveling at high speeds, until he returned to his residence. Deputies made a high-risk traffic stop and took the driver, Benjamin Morales of Seguin, in custody. Morales was armed with two handguns and possession of methamphetamine. Morales was transported to the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a motor vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, unlawful carry of a weapon, and criminal trespass.
