On 2-18-20, Cpl. Crawford located a stolen vehicle traveling on I-10 east bound near FM 465. The vehicle was a 2018 Ford Mustang. Cpl. Crawford attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it refused to stop traveling North on FM 465. Several deputies pursued the vehicle through Marion to FM 78 where the vehicle turned east. The vehicle continued east on FM 78 at speeds near 100 mile per hour. Deputy Locklear deployed stop sticks on FM 78 near Shortcut Road and was able to deflate both passenger side tires. Deputies continued pursuing the vehicle until it came to a stop at Highway 123 South and Angel Ln. The driver of the vehicle (April Gomez) was taken into custody. A male passenger in the vehicle was detained for a short time and released.
